Ferrite EP Core

The self-shielding EP cores built/designed with a low profile are ideal for power inductors. They are cubical in shape and have the highest volume to surface ratio. However, they have significantly less area to wind the coil. These are available in five distinct sizes: EP7, EP10, EP13, and E15, as well as aS 20. It is utilized in power transformers, as well as differential and telecom inductors.

Pros
  • Low profile
  • Excellent shielding
  • Surface to maximum volume ratio
Cons
  • Less winding space
Applications
  • Differential Inductors and Telecom inductors
